What’s to Come in 2019 in Entertainment

Now that 2018 has come to a close, we look forward to 2019 and all it brings. Entertainment big or small is a huge part of most people’s lives. From video games to television, to online content and movies, take a look at our quick rundown of what to look forward to in 2019.

Television

Games of Thrones, Season 8 – After waiting 2 years, we will finally see who will be sitting on the iron throne …or will they all die by the hands of the white walkers?

Stranger Things, Season 3 – Currently there is no exact release date for this show, but many believe it will air in the summer. We will see kids go against supernatural beings once again.

Glow, Season 3 – Looking forward to a female empowering show? Glow is the answer. You have time to catch up before season 3 drops in 2019.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Season 6 & Lucifer, Season 4 – Both of these shows were saved by the fans with mass support online after they were canceled by Fox in 2018.

 

Video Games

Kingdom Hearts 3 – People have been waiting since 2005 for the third entry of the Kingdom Hearts series, a game that mixes Disney characters and Final Fantasy characters together, scheduled to be released at the end of January.

Anthem – An all-new game to the video game world. This game has groups of players coming together to complete missions and exploration. Get ready to play in February.

Yoshi’s Crafted World –  An exclusive game from Nintendo, once again you play as Yoshi the loveable dinosaur in the Mario universe in this classic 2D formula with a new spin in the spring of 2019.

The Last of Us: Part 2 – This is a highly anticipated follow-up to ‘The Last of Us’. Joel and Ellie will be making a return sometime in 2019.

 

Movies

Movies

Avengers: Endgame – This movie takes place shortly after the events of the ‘snap’ in Avengers: Infinity War. This movie is already a blockbuster, but you will have to wait until April 26th to see it.

The Lion King – This photorealistic computer-animated remake from the original 1994 film will be released on July 19, 2019.

Star Wars: Episode IX – The final movie of the Star Wars new trilogy, and ninth and final installment of the main Star Wars saga, will be released in December.

Pokemon: Detective Pikachu – When the first trailer dropped for this movie, fans went wild. There are high hopes that this movie will break the curse of video game movies being awful. We will see on May 10, 2019.

Of course, there are a bunch of albums from many top artists to drop in 2019. Such as Adele, Coldplay, Kanye West, Lana Del Rey, Madonna, Rihanna, Taylor Swift, and The Weeknd.

The Valleycast – A team of 4 comedians who do a weekly podcast where they discuss events, tell personal stories and fall into a state of joyous chaos.

The Daily Show with Trevor Noah Ears Edition – From the popular television show ‘The Daily Show with Trevor Noah’ this podcast lets you listen to highlights and extended interviews from the show.

Star Talk Radio – The famous Astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson and his comic co-hosts, guest celebrities, and scientists discuss life in the universe.
