Believe it or not, Spring is almost here….actually, its official start is just a mere 15 days! It’s time to do away with foul words such as wind-chill factor, snow squall, frost quakes and dare we say it….the polar vortex, and start transitioning our thoughts to the fresher, brighter pleasantries of Spring.
Speaking of Spring, now is the perfect time to review your on-hold messages and perhaps refresh the content. Here is a brief checklist of what you should consider while updating:
Is your company still carrying the products that are mentioned in your script?
Have any of your services changed recently, and if so, are they mentioned in your production?
Have seasonal services been updated on your message, for example; tire changes, spring tune-ups, patio season, landscaping versus snowplowing?
Has your company moved or have you updated your website lately? Does your on-hold message accurately reflect your company’s physical and/or website address?
Does it mention your facebook and/or twitter accounts? Or any other social media your company is involved with?
What about the caller who is a potential client, who believes ‘seeing is believing’? In addition to telling them about new/recent projects, your phone message can help direct them to your website where they can see the proof is in the pudding!
Perhaps all that’s needed is a little rewording to freshen things up. Simply changing the music or picking a new voice talent can make your current message sound brand new.
Remember, this is your chance to tell your callers exactly what you want them to know about your business – so make each word, and music note count!
