September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month

This September go big and go TEAL!! September is the time to spread teal and awareness of Ovarian Cancer. There are several ways you can help support and spread awareness this month.

On Friday, September 5th, wear your favourite teal outfit and accessories for Wear Teal Day!!! Ovarian Cancer Canada would love for you to post a picture of you wearing teal to their Facebook page.


On Sunday, September 7th, Walk for Her at the Ovarian Cancer Canada Walk of Hope takes place in one of 45 locations! Visit, to either find a walk, register to walk, fundraise or donate!


During the month of September, you can buy sunflowers in support of Ovarian Cancer Canada at either IGA Marketplace in British Columbia or Longo’s in the GTA.

Get the word out by sharing the Ovarian Cancer Injustice video through your social media.


What many people don’t know is that ovarian cancer is the 5th most common cancer for women but is the most fatal to women. 17,000 Canadians live with the disease and 1 in 72 Canadian women is expected to develop it during her lifetime and 1 in 93 will die from the disease. If you have a chance this month, go to to learn more about the disease, how to educate others about it, to find events in your region or just how to get more involved.

With each dollar and each minute donated to this worthy cause we are one step closer to finding a way to stop this terrible disease from affecting more women in the future.
