Finagle’s Law & On Hold Messaging

We all know about Murphy and his law. But, did you know that Mr. Finagle also has his own law? “Anything that can go wrong, will – at the worst possible time.” Now I imagine you are asking yourself; ‘what does that have to do with phone messaging?’

Well, I want you to envision yourself sitting at your desk, all is quiet and then, all of a sudden, you get 2 phone calls at the same time.  Boom!  Finagle’s law happens because the inevitable problem rises; which call do you answer and which one do you put on hold or to voicemail? Sadly, your hold line is just silence… which almost guarantees a hang up. And as far as your voicemail goes, can you trust the person to leave a message and if they do, will it lead to the world’s most annoying game of phone tag?
